This term we started with arts and crafts to be presented at our lamb and Calf day. The day was a great success. We had farm themed cakes, farm themed sand trays and landscapes integrated with nature. For the landscapes we all use at least two different pieces of nature to experiment with different textures and effects, this included sand, flax, bark, pebbles, and feathers. Here are our masterpieces:
We had a short Science unit at the end of term 3 where we looked at molecules and had a go at making molecules out of wine gums. Here are our molecules:
How we made our 3-D masks.
First of all we had to draw our draft copy of our masks then we made the frames of our masks out of pipe cleaners to practise before we get to the actual wire masks. Then we made the shapes of our influences that inspire us from the books and the pictures we saw. After that we started adding our influence shapes onto the frames of our masks to show how we put our influences. We had to put wire across the mask so the influence shapes can be hung around the frame of the mask.
We are focusing on Masks at the moment.
We have made 3d draft models of our masks using pipe cleaners:
How we made our wire mask!!!! First we had to get the shape of our faces with thick wire. Then we started to make our small detailed features with thin wire so we could add them to our thick wire. After we got all of that done we got some material and we die it with red, blue, green, black and grey. After the material dried we had a choice if we cut it our glue the whole thing on. Some of us decided to cut our material so that our finer features would stand out more when we painted them. Now we have finished them they looked way better when they were when we first started with them.
